Recently I've really been into the pink and orange color combination. These two usually clashing colors can pair together quite nicely. I think a fun summer accessory would be a hot pink & bright orange bag! Here are my favorite picks:
The JPREP from Big Buddha is the perfect size. It's a nice bright color, and it's a reasonable price! This is definitely a top pick. This would be perfect for strolling along and shopping - lots of room for treasures :)
If you're looking for something smaller - you're more of a grab and go kind of girl - then look no further than this lobster clutch from Shiraleah. This is the perfect size for running errands or for a fun afternoon picnic. Bonus points always awarded to something printed in a shellfish pattern.
Oh Tory Burch, how I love you. This "dipped drawstring beach tote" bag is no exception. I'm liking the classic lines and tan accents with the bright pink and green. This is a definite summer bag.
This colorful tote bag by Anya Hindmarch is a little out of my price range, but I'm really liking the different looking pink and orange on this one. It's more of a melon color - which I definitely like. Also, the leather looks super soft!!!
A super classic - ready for the beach! This tote bag by Eddie Bauer is affordable, and will never go out of style. Grab your bag, a towel, a book (and sunblock!) and you're ready for the water!!! Also, it's on sale for only $19.99. I get paid on Friday......

Weekend Scenes: Memorial Day Edition
Phew. It's so hard to get back into things after a long weekend! I hope yours was great....here are a few snippets of my adventures....
Friday, post work, Eric & I packed into the car and headed towards my mom's house in Harrisburg. Lest you think I'm always eating out at fabulous places, a picture of our dinner:
Ahhh yes, PA Turnpike food. Word to the wise: a po' boy at Popeye's is not an actual po' boy. My mistake.
Saturday morning at my mom's was delightful as usual. A couple rounds of cards, some thrifting and some delicious lunch at Neato Burrito.
I can't find the pictures I took of Neato Burrito's insides (which was super cute), so here is this google image picture of a man standing outside the one we went to:
For dinner, my grandparents came up from Baltimore! We had dinner at a place called Davinci's.
It was BYOB :)
I started with my beloved Maryland Crab Soup (which I can't get anywhere in Pittsburgh).
And rounded out my meal with salmon topped with crab imperial. Dear goodness, this was all so good. If you're ever in Mechanicsburg, PA - stop at Davinci's.
My beautiful mother & grandmother!
Post dinner, it was time for some walking around Target (due to the rain getting in the way of a normal post dinner family walk), then dessert!
Sweet Frog is a chain of delicious frozen yogurt restaurants on the east coast. It's soooo good.
The interior is pink and green!!!!!! Froyo and my favorite colors?!?!?!
Mmmm, the fixings bar - filled with delicious and healthy (and not so healthy) toppings.
What a delicious day!!!
Sunday, we were up super early for a road trip to Long Island for a lovely wedding....info on that tomorrow!
Have a great day!

Friday Etsy Favorites!
Almost the weekend!!! Wooo.....no more posts until Tuesday - I'm out of town on all sorts of adventures this weekend. Hope everyone has a great memorial day!
Here are some of the things I'm currently lusting over on Etsy....
I love these Great Gatsby book cufflinks. Made by bookity, there are tons of cute things in this shop inspired by good reads!!!
Summer is coming and it's time to get serious about the beach. These great storage baskets are perfect to infuse some beachy atmosphere into my apartment! And they will keep me organized :)
Mmmmmm cheese. These vintage pewter cheese labels are a giant must have for a classy dinner party!!! I will most likely be buying these asap - so look, but please don't touch.
Oh Dundalk....this cheeky take on Starry Night is right up my alley....
Oh my goodness look at this vintage bar set. No words. I want. Why oh why must my birthday and Christmas be so close together!!!
This wreath has since sold, but I'm loving the springtime colors!!! Check out others in the shop!

Phone Pics Roundup!
Lot's of goings on recently!! I went through some of the pictures on my phone to give you a little recap of what I've been up to....
Rehearsals for House of Blue Leaves are in full force! This is a picture from early in the rehearsal process...the set looks amazing now! Two weeks!
Last night at the theater, prop pictures were taken of various cast members in different situations. Pictured here is the lovely director, Leah showing off some of her best 60's fashion and ready for her closeup.
Several weeks ago Eric and I had our date night at Christos, downtown. I forgot how much I liked this sign. It reads: "Christos: The real Greek food, made for good people in Pittsburgh" - Can't argue with that!
Leftover pic from Ruey's 21st in New York. The naked cowboy got a little too close for comfort!!!
Sister pic! Taken after a couple :) drinks.
The sign from when our band performed at Live on Liberty. If you're in Pittsburgh and want more information, click here.
A shot of Lucy the cat, because I love her. And she's gorgeous.
Hope your week's going well!

Eye Gel!
Several weeks ago Gilt was having a Mario Badescu skin care sale. (If you're not a member of Gilt, you should be for awesome sales! Use my link here. )
I picked up some standards, but also decided to try a new product.
The Ceramide Eye Gel. I've reached the age where under eye circles are becoming a problem. Holy Mackerel I'm tired!
So I bought this on a whim. I think I got it for $12, but it usually retails for $18.00 for a 0.5oz pot.
Oh my goodness, it works! After only 3 days of using my under eye circles are diminished! Even Eric agrees (for a boy to notice, you know something's different!). I fully recommend you get your own.
It seems like a little pot, but you only have to use a tiny bit. It pat on a little (always pat under your eyes, never rub!) before bed, and in the morning before I put on my makeup.
To get your own, go here.
Let me know what you think!
PS, this was not sponsored. I wish it was though, I love this stuff and want so much to hoard it.

Key Fobs!
It's time for a new key fob. Mine is looking a little rough around the edges, but not in a good, cool, broken in kind of way.
Here are some of my picks!
This is the obvious choice - it's pink and green and pineappled. Sold by the Pink Lobster via Etsy. (Also - what a great name!!!)
For a classic, needlepoint look, there's always Smathers & Branson. This blue & red crab fob can remind me of Maryland and time on the Eastern Shore...
If I'm feeling creative, I can always get this kit from Etsy to make my own! Despite never needlepointing???
Along the lines of my new giraffe obsession, I could always try this one out. Though I'm not 100% sold - It's just a little too trendy for me, I think.
Choices, choices!

Weekends Scenes!
What a busy busy weekend!!
Friday night started with a rather intense rehearsal. The play is moving along!
Following that, it was time for a goodbye party for Joe, saxophone player extraordinaire.
Joe and me. It's hard to see, but Joe is wearing an appropriate NASA shirt. He's heading out west to improve space. Or something like that.
Saturday morning I was up bright and early for a day on the town. It consisted of taking a touristy boat ride, riding the incline, a delicious lunch, and a decadent root beer float! No complaints here!!!
View from the Duchess, one of the boats in the Gateway Clipper Fleet.
Saturday night it was party night again! After dinner and beers for Bert's birthday, we waited until midnight to celebrate his girlfriend, Xtine's birthday! Double birthday! Yay!
The birthday boy.
And although I didn't have a pic of her on my phone from Saturday, I did some FB creeping to find a pic of the birthday girl!
Happy birthday you two!!!
Sunday morning it was up and at 'em early again to meet friends for brunch at the Zenith.
Vintage glassware at brunch.
Chairs suspended from the ceiling.
Seriously, if you're ever in the burgh, check out the Zenith for a delicious meal and super fun shopping!
After a brief break (aka I really needed a nap). Eric and I headed over to his parent's house for dinner with his dad. (At ChinaBuffetKing - seriously all one word. Seriously gluttonous and delicious. But not really picture material) And then took advantage of his parent's washer and dryer :)
Hope you had a great weekend! Back to the grind!

Relaxing - Caitlin Style
Soooo, I'm incredibly exhausted. I've been running non stop, and will continue to do so for the next few weeks. What I'd really like to be doing this Friday night is relaxing. Unfortunately, not an option. (relaxation time is within my grasp though! Almost here!).
If I were to be laying low this evening, here are the steps I would take in order to relax :)
Step 1:
Take a long, long shower & use this Bliss salt scrub. Seriously, it's the greatest thing in the world. Put it on before you get in the shower. It has a grainy, exfoliating texture and a minty smell. Once it's on your skin, it begins to warm. Not only will it make your skin super smooth, but the scent and heat producing a calming effect. Double win.
Step 2:
Make yourself some hot tea. I buy all my loose tea's next door to where I work, at Presto George. They have a huge selection. It's remarkable, really. But any tea will do!
Step 3:
Snuggle on the couch under a super comfy blanket....I am really loving this Lilly patterned one from Etsy. Someone should snatch it up!
Step 4:
Turn on Netflix, which you hopefully have cued up with all the Law & Order SVU's. (Seriously, they're all on there. Check them out.). Eric may or may not be watching them straight through. I would brag about how far along we are in such and such season. But I'm embarrassed by the fact that you could do the math and realize how many hours we've wasted on this goal.
Step 5:
Snuggle with these two!
Ok, just kidding, these are only for me. But, you could substitute any pet (or stuffed animal) and any significant other (or BFF) and have the same effect. Lounging is better with friends!
If you're feeling like really really really relaxing and not being healthy at all, I also recommend the following bonus step.
Buy this fake cheese dip and eat it with chips. Seriously, it looks like the grossest thing in the world, but is the ultimate comfort food. I enjoy it hot or cold.
Available at your grocery store (if you're in the mid-atlantic region) or from Utz.com.
Seriously. It's so good. But bad for you. But good.
